Another great week in Taniyama! I really hope I stay here for a while, I love the people and everything about it!
This week we met with Eguma, our new investigator that we found last week on the street. Capener Shimais uncle taught her and baptized her daughter like 20 years ago! It it such a miracle that we found her, especially during Capener Shimais last transfer ever! Sadly her daughter went inactive right after she got baptized basically. So we met with Eguma San last night and talked about our purpose and her image of God. She knows that it was a miracle that we ran into again. She said she knows that God sent us to her and she knows that God exists. When we asked her if she was interested in learning more, she said that she didnt really have desire. She said that she in bukyo and that all of beliefs work together and that she doesnt need anymore in her life. So we will keep working with her and help her realize that there is SO much more for her in life, and it is the gospel of Jesus Christ! She also told us that she had leukemia when she knew the missionaries and she believes it was because of their blessings that she was healed. How could she not want to know more about this gospel?! We just gotta keep loving her and praying with her and help her feel the Spirit! She is so nice and loves missionaries so much. She calls herself our mom, its so cute. We love her!
One cool miracle that we had this week happened in a lesson with Iwakawa San, one of our investigators. We were teaching Plan of Salvation and right before we got to the spirit world part of the lesson, Iwakawa San got a phone call. She answered and found out that one of her close friends mom had suddenly died. Of course is was sad news, but the timing in the lesson was perfect. Right after she got the sad news, we were able to testify of the spirit world and that her friend will be able to see her mom again. Her daughter was also in the lesson and she said to her mom that they should teach the friend about the Plan of Salvation! It was amazing! The Spirit was so strong and it was a neat experience. They are praying about their baptismal date right now so we are praying for them and their faith!
Capener Shimai is amazing, I try to keep her mind off the end of this transfer.... when she goes home to America. We just keep telling each other that she still has 6 months left so we dont get sad. We are working hard and will make sure she is completely exhausted by the time she goes home. :)
This week we had ZTM and District Conference, it was super nice to see Kaicho and Shimai, aka mission president and his wife haha. we love them so much! we have 259 missionaries in our mission right now! we will be getting ipad minis in november i think so they talked about using media in our lessons. the mormon messages and im a mormon ads are so great and really bring the Spirit!
Sunday night we had FHE at Megumi Shimais house. She is a less active but has been coming to church recently! She has to work on Sundays so its hard for her to come to church every week. We had takoyaki and I like octopus now! It was so good! You make these little pancake ball things with cabbage onions and octopus inside. then you put delicious sauce and mayo on the top! i think im turning Japanese!
Im so lucky to be serving a mission, it is such a great privilege to be working with God everyday. We are so blessed to be able to bring souls unto Him! Missionary work is amazing and I love it more and more every day. Love you all! I know this church is true!
Love,
Klein Shimai
