Hope you had an awesome week! The work here in Taniyama has been moving along and we have been busy, busy, busy, especially with our 2 baptisms on Saturday!! The meeting was so nice and the Spirit was so strong! Yukina Chan (16 years old) was really nervous right before she entered the water because she said so many people were looking at her. I said a quick prayer for her in my head and she eventually went into the water. Right after she was baptized, she had a huge smile and she was literally glowing! She said she loved it and she said she felt really good! I told her to write her feelings down in a journal so she can always look back on them to remember her special day. Yamashita, the mom, bore a really sweet testimony after and was crying because she felt the Spirit so strongly! We are working with the branch president right now to get them callings. Yukina will probably lead the music in sacrament meeting! Me, Capener Shimai and the two other shimai that live with us sang "i'm trying to be like Jesus" at the baptism, half in nihongo half in english. two LAs (less active members) that we are working with also came, so that was really awesome. hopefully they were reminded of their own baptismal days!
Mayu, our investigator cancelled two lessons this week and couldn't come to the baptism. We are worried about her, please keep her in your prayers! We keep trying to contact her but she doesnt reply to texts or call back.
On the way home from church yesterday we were riding quickly so we could eat because we were starving. We saw a lady and decided to stop her anyway. And guess what?! We gave her a Book of Mormon and she became a new investigator! She really had interest in the Book of Mormon and we are meeting with her on Sunday after church. Every day I pray that she will show up! Her name is Honda San, yes like the car company :). Im so glad we decided to stop her and I know that the Lord directed us to find her!
Last Pday we had district Pday and we went to Round 1, which is this huge games/sports center. We weren't allowed to do some of the stuff but here's what we did do: roller skating, bowling, billiards, batting cages, mini golf, archery, volleyball, soccer, etc. Lets just say that we were super sore the next day! it was way fun! we did "super den do" that night, where the whole district streeted and housed a few blocks. we talked to SO many people. the other shimai are looking for a new investigator, so everyone gave them the refferals that they got from that night. this week they visited all the houses we gave them and they found a new investigator!
Earlier this week we visited Ryu Kyodai, who is a less active. He's from Taiwan and was baptized in Tokyo when he was 18. he hasnt been to church in forever and doesn't remember like anything. he's an orthopedic surgeon, so he is always super busy and it was a miracle that he was home when we stopped by. we set up an appt with him and we went back this morning! we reviewed what the book of mormon is and taught lesson 1. he says all of it sounds somewhat familiar. we are trying to get him to come to church on sunday!
we also visited megumi, another less active. she was home and she came to church yesterday! we are going to visit her again on wednesday so that i can role play lesson 1 to her. she and i are like best friends; shes awesome!
Ryo Kyodai, the other LA weve been working with, went on his own to the Branch President to ask for a calling. and guess what? he's probably going to be the Young Mens' President! he is so awesome and has so much faith. he is still building his own testimony and is re-learning all the missionary lessons, but he is willing to serve in the branch! he's great!
We also had interviews with President Gustaffson and got some training from the APs (assistants to the president). Kaicho (President) is the best; I love him so much! He cares about each of us so much and gives amazing counsel.
I had such a great week, I can't believe this transfer only has like 2 more weeks. Time goes by too quickly! I love this gospel! I know this is the true church. I know Jesus Christ lives!
Love you all!
Klein Shimai
