So I am training Carey Shimai, and she is from Washington. She is 21 and is so full of energy. She is so genki all the time and it makes working with her really fun. I am so glad Kaicho sent her to me because I am already learning a ton. She really teaches with the Spirit and asks really good questions in our lessons. She is a great companion and is always willing to work hard!
So Lowe Shimai (the other sister i trained) got transferred to the Fukuoka Zone, so I am so excited to see her again! I'll be able to do splits with her, too!
Yesterday was a miracle Sabbath. We had 4 investigators at church. It was a little stressful, 'cause we were running around like crazy trying to make sure everyone had a good fellowshipper with them in all of the meetings. The members were great! Atsuko san came to church for the first time yesterday and really liked it. She won't be able to make it 3 times before her baptismal date, so we will have to push it back. Which is needed anyway because she is having a huge trial of faith right now with tea. Her grandma is an ocha sensei (Brother Mike Smith in Addy's home ward had to say this about an ocha sensei - TEA CEREMONY TEACHER - THIS IS A BIG DEAL. SIMILAR TO DAUGHTERS OF UTAH PIONEERS AND QUILTING, EXCEPT THAT IT'S TEA AND VERY JAPANESE. YOU MAY THINK, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL ABOUT MAKING TEA--BELIEVE ME, IT'S A BIG DEAL, VERY DIFFICULT TO DO CORRECTLY AND TAKES YEARS OF TRAINING) and she has to go to her grandma's tea class every week. We've tried all we can think of, but she still said she doesn't want to and will not stop drinking tea. We've decided we need to help her strengthen her own faith and testimony of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith before we go on to the other commandments. Please please pray for her! We need a big miracle with her. I've been stressed lately just thinking about her. She is so amazing and we are praying that she can overcome this trial of faith.
The other day we got a call from a family in Utah who gave us a referral!!! That doesn't happen very often so we were SO EXCITED! This 12 year old girl did a home stay with them and now she is back in Japan. We called her and her mom right away, they both came to church yesterday and we are teaching them next week. We are so excited and feel really good about them. Thank you to the Sonomura family for the referral!
This week I loved 3 Nephi 1:8: "But behold, they did watch steadfastly for that day and that night and that day which should be as one day as if there were no night, that they might know that their faith had not been vain."
I love how they watched steadfastly. I've been working on faith lately and I just love this verse. How much faith they had!
I love being in Fukuoka and I love everything about Japan. I love inviting others to come unto Christ every single day. This is the best work. The church is true!
Love Klein Shimai

We had asked Addy a few questions:
1. How is Sayaka chan feeling (she was in the hospital for a tonsillectomy)?
Sayaka chan is getting better. She's out of the hospital on Wednesday.
2. We mentioned that it must be awfully humid there: We have 1 AC unit in the sleeping room; we use fans a ton!! Yes, it's super hot and humid!
3. We asked her, since she was in the city now, if they still ride bikes everywhere:
We ride bikes and have only ridden the subway twice. Yes, we are right downtown. Well, our apartment is like a 20 min. bike ride from all the high rises. 5. We asked her if she has more opportunities to attend the Fukuoka Temple, since it is in her city now: The temple ... we will probably go in October when Mari (a girl we baptized in Nagasaki) gets sealed to her parents!!!
Sorry this is so jumbled!
love you!
