We got a text from kaicho this week and we have a special training in Fukuoka on Monday! The whole mission is going! I'm so excited to see people from my MTC district! And were pretty sure we will be getting iPads- we are all so excited!!!!
Funny story- So Tuesday was District meeting! It had rained the night before so there were tons of puddles all over the road. I was walking on the sidewalk and a car drove by and splashed a HUGE puddle on me and I got soaked! It was like a scene out of a movie! It was hilarious!!
Thanksgiving was just a normal day, haha. We had dinner with our investigator Mana Chan and the Rowe couple, a senior missionary couple in Kagoshima. She made chicken and gravy and it was so good! I felt like I was in America. So Thanksgiving was great!
We had a ward FHE (Family Home Evening) and Yamashita Shimai`s whole family came! The ward members were really good at fellow-shipping her sons. And we scheduled an appointment to go to their house in two weeks! We are going to teach her whole family a lesson! We are so excited, because we have been trying so hard for a long time to get her whole family together for a lesson.
Two of our Eikaiwa students became new investigators! Hiroe San and her friend, Kumiko San. Right now they just have a little interest, but in the last lesson Hiroe San prayed! Families are really important to both of them, so in the next lesson we will focus on eternal families! We teach Eikaiwa to them for like 30 minutes and then have a short lesson after. We are slowly making the english lesson shorter and the gospel lesson longer! I know that as they feel the Spirit more and more they will want to hear more about this amazing gospel!!!
Hayama San was our investigator and we had a baptismal date with her for January 10th. She called us the other day and said she wants to stop having lessons with us. She is so scared of knowing the truth, because she doesn't want to change her life.... She has some mental disabilities and is just really scared about everything. Like being outside after 7pm. We are going to stop by one more time and talk about the Atonement with her, because we do not want to give up on her!
Mana Chan is progressing well, she said she felt the Spirit when she prayed about the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith. Her parents are slowly becoming less hantai! They seem okay with baptism, they just don't want her to be distracted from studying and school. She is in her 3rd grade of middle school, so they have a bunch of huge tests coming up that determine where they go to high school. So she has to study a ton for those. We are still praying for baptism on the 27th of this month. If we can get her parents to sign the form, she should be good! She still doesn't know for sure that Joseph Smith was a prophet, so we are trying to build her faith and testimony so that she will want to be baptized and have the courage to talk to her parents more about how important this is to her. Thank you for all the prayers for her!!!!
We get transfer calls later on today! Im pretty sure I'll stay in Taniyama because Kuroki Shimai is leaving. I wonder who my new companion will be!!! I love missionary work so much! I know this church is true and I love the people here in Japan! Have a great week!! Love you all!
Love,
Klein Shimai
