Konnichiwa!
Today is Saturday and we are going to the temple, so today became
Pday. So, the next time I e-mail will be next Monday! Anyway, we are so
excited to go to the temple! Aiko Shimai, the recent convert we have
been meeting with lately, will come with us! And she is going to be
baptized for her mother!! We are so excited for her and will do
baptisms so that we can be there with her. We will take pics after and
I'll send them next week! I am so happy that she is able to come because
we have been trying so hard the past two transfers to prepare her for
today! I know that she is going to feel the Spirit so strongly when
she is baptized for her mom!
Last Pday, we went to the Oura Cathedral, which is the oldest church in
Japan. It was really cool and there really was a special spirit there
because of all the sacrifices those early missionaries made to bring
Christianity to Japan!
We met a really cool lady on the street, Wada San. We got talking and
she said that her Dad was some type of Christian, that he lived in
Okinawa, and that he would always teach her about Christ when she
would go visit him. Of course, we wanted to meet with her again, but
she wouldn't make an appt., because she is busy with work. Well, we got
her number and asked her to call her Dad to ask him what church he goes to;
then, to call us back and let us know. Well, she actually called us back and
she said that her dad is a member of our Church! We literally shouted for joy
and she laughed haha. It was a cool experience and she said she will try to
come to eikaiwa (English lessons) this week.
We also met a super cute mom while we were housing, Morita San. She
and her husband have 4 kids. She said that she used to take the lessons from the
elders in Fukuoka and go to the eikaiwa there when she was in high
school. She said she can't really remember anything, but wants to meet
with us next month. This was a HUGE miracle; we were definitely led by
the Lord to find her.
Since I'm an STL (Sister Training Leader), we had to go to Fukuoka on Tuesday for Missionary Leadership Council. We went with the Zone Leaders and it was really
fun. We also got iPads at that training! Then, on Thursday the Zone Leaders,
Herrmann Shimai, and I trained the whole Zone! I was a little scared for my first
training, but it went really well! We did that "push-up" Atonement example and
the Spirit was so strong!
Well, that's all I have today; I feel like I just emailed haha. This week I realized
again how important it is to work with the Spirit. When you stop and pray
throughout dendo, the Lord really does lead you to His elect. I know this
Church is true. I'm seeing it change Mari's life and others around me. I love
this gospel! Love you all and pray for you!
