Hello!!
This week went by so quickly, it's crazy! We had Zone Conference which was so good! Kaicho and Shimai (our Mission President and his wife) and the APs (Assistants to the Mission President) are so awesome! We talked a lot about sacrament meeting and how we can get investigators to attend more consistently. We also talked a lot about using family history in missionary work! We want to try to get more people to the temple to do their own family names. Hopefully this will help with new convert retention. Kaicho said the retention rate in Japan right now is like 20%..... so many less actives! We had a testimony meeting at the end which was SO good. After I bore my testimony I just felt like I could light this world on fire with this gospel! It is so true and can change so many peoples lives!
We were housing on Tuesday and this little kid ran up to me and asked if i was famous... that was pretty cool. I wanted to tell him I was Taylor Swift, but decided not to..
So our investigator, Miura San, basically dropped us this week. She emailed us and said she wants to focus on her daughter, not missionary lessons. We were so sad! But we really think she got freaked out when we taught tithing. Not sure why, because she doesnt even have a job right now. So she won't let us teach her... We can still serve her though, by teaching English to her daughter, Misaki Chan! She is the blind girl I talked about a while ago.
Sunday was awesome; Hasegawa Kyodai came to church! He is the less active member that we visited on his birthday. The one that lives 3 hours away by bike! Yamashita Shimai's husband came to church again this week and so did her son!!!! We finally were able to set up an FHE with her whole family, so that was pretty awesome. Little by little, her family will continue to see her and Yukina's examples and want to be baptized as well! Love that family so much! Also, we have a branch temple trip on December 20th, so I get to go to the temple if i stay in Taniyama for another transfer! and Yamashita and Yukina will come too! SO glad they get to do baptisms for the dead. I'm so excited for them! We're trying to get Mayu to go, as well!!
One really awesome miracle we saw this week was with our investigator, Mana Chan. She is the 15 year old girl with the father who doesn't want her to become a member. After Zone Conference, we were pumped about baptismal calendars and decided to set a new date with her. We reset her baptismal date for December 27th. When we told her that we prayed about that date and asked her what she thought, she said without any hesitation that it was perfect. She believes her dad can change by that date and let her be baptized!!! We also wrote a letter to her dad and hopefully that will soften his heart as well. Is was just awesome to see her have so much faith that her dad can change by the 27th!!!! Thank you so much for your prayers on their behalf!
The Lord really does answer our prayers! I can`t believe I only have 2 more weeks with Kuroki Shimai... she goes home after this transfer! I feel like this transfer just started, it's crazy. Also this week I will hit my 6 month mark. That is so crazy and scary.. it came so fast! Makes me want to work harder and harder each day. I love this work and I love this gospel. I know this church is true. I know that reading and praying EVERY DAY brings so many blessings into my life and the lives of our investigators. Have a great week!
Love,
Klein Shimai
