Hello, everyone!!!
I hope you had a great week! We had a super busy week here in Taniyama! We taught 8 lessons and were go go go every single day! We got some really sad news from Mana Chan though, so I guess I'll start with her!
I don't remember what I've said about her, but she's 15 and is a fireball of faith. She's on page 40 in the Book of Mormon and came to all 3 hours of church. She introduced her friend to us and now her friend, Sae Chan, is a new investigator. Mana's lessons went really well this week and we made a baptismal date with her for the 29th of this month!!!!! So everything was going really well until we got a text from her a few days ago. She said that she asked her parents about baptism, because we need permission since she is a minor, and they are SUPER ANTI (against) our Church (Sae Chan's parents are also super anti). They said she is not allowed to get baptized. Her dad even thinks that we put poison in the baptismal font water. Mana came to Mayu's baptism so she told her dad that Mayu was fine after being baptized haha. When I got the news, I just started crying! I love Mana Chan SO MUCH and really feel like I was supposed to find her! I was so sad and just wanted to tell her dad "come and see" that baptism is normal; come and see what our church is like! In our next lesson after we got the text, Mana said that we can still teach her and she can still come to church, she just can't be baptized. We watched a Mormon Message and Mana Chan just cried throughout the whole thing; and then, of course, I started crying. Here is this sweet girl, FULL OF FAITH, ready for baptism, but her parents won't let her get baptized. She keeps a book cover on her Book of Mormon so her parents won't see that she is reading it. Mana is seriously amazing and she is such an incredible example to me! So right now, we are all praying harder than we ever have before that her parents' hearts will be softened. We are trying to develop a relationship with them, but Mana Chan is really scared about the situation. Please pray for them all!!!!! Thanks!
I love Kuroki Shimai so much! She is always serving others before herself. I think Heavenly Father wanted me to learn how to be more charitable, so He sent Kuroki Shimai to me to be my example. She always thinks of others before herself, she is such a Christ-like person. I love her so much!!!!
I don't have much else to say - just please pray for Mana! I hope you all have a great week! The church is true!!!
Love you!
Klein Shimai
