10/13/2014 E-Mail - Conference Miracles

Konnichiwa!

Hey! Sorry I dont have much time, but I will talk about a few miracles we saw this week!

So there was a typhoon so we had to stay inside all day yesterday. The typhoon wasn't that bad at all, just lots of rain and lots of wind. We were prepared though; we filled tons of pitchers with water and had flashlights ready! We also bought extra groceries and filled the bathtub with water. But it passed without being too bad, so we were blessed!

So we got to watch General Conference! It was amazing! We watched 3 sessions on Saturday and then 1 session on Sunday.  It was like Christmas! We had a really cool experience with Mayu, our investigator. We talked with her a few days before Conference and she expressed a lot of her concerns with being baptized. She said she didn't think Adam and Eve were real people and couldn't get her mind around how God could create this world. We answered her questions as best as we could, leading everything back to prayer and the Book of Mormon. If the Book of Mormon is true, then everything else is!!! We told her she had to pray in order to learn of these things herself. We told her to write down her questions and we promised her that they would be answered in General Conference. She could only come to 1 session of General Conference, and our Branch played the Sunday PM session very first for some reason; I think because of the typhoon. We were a little concerned that since she could only watch the last session, she might be confused or something. Well, we start watching Conference, me and Capener Shimai are upstairs watching the same session in English, and the VERY first talk from that session was Elder Ballard talking about how you shouldn't worry about your doubts- focus on the important things, like how God is your Heavenly Father. If you focus on what's important, you shouldn't have fear about anything else. This was perfect for Mayu, our investigator!!!!! Her prayer was answered directly by an Apostle of the Lord. Then, Elder Scott was next and his first words were `When ADAM AND EVE were in the garden...`. When Capener Shimai and I heard this, we just started crying. That was one of Mayu's questions and it was directly answered by an Apostle of the Lord. We couldn't believe how amazing her answer was. It was such a strong spiritual experience, and I will never forget it. God cares so much about these people, He cared enough to answer a 21 year old's humble question about Adam and Eve. Prayer is real and I know God answers them!!!! I love this gospel and am humbled to get to witness such amazing miracles on my mission. I love this work and I know this church is true without a doubt.  Love you!

P.S. - a Krispy Kreme opened up in Kagoshima and everyone is crazy over it! The lines are super long. Our district leader bought us some and oh my gosh, they were so good!
