Hello!
Hope everyone had a great week! Last Pday we went to the beach with
Sakura San. She and her daughter are referrals from a family in Utah.
The mom doesn't have interest in the church but the daughter does. We
planned to all go to the beach together but when Kotone chan had to go
to school, Sakura San was nice enough to take us anyway. It was a way
fun Pday!
We went to Yahata last week to go on splits. I worked with Butikofer
Shimai, she got here the same time as Lowe Shimai, my first bean chan.
Butikofer Shimai and I learned a lot and got nice and sweaty in the
boiling sun... haha.
Random but worth writing about: we found an indo curry place that has
PEANUT BUTTER NAN. It was the best thing ever. Nan + peanut butter =
delicious!
When we were out the other day it started pouring so nobody was on the
road we planned to contact on. We prayed and felt like we should go
house instead. We picked a place and two certain apartments that
looked like they'd be good. The first one had nobody interested, but
then in the second apartment we met a guy named Jo San. He met the
missionaries a year ago and had one lesson with them but then they
somehow lost contact. He is super atheist and doesn't want to believe
in God or prayer or anything. He asked us if God exists then why do
some parents try to do bad things to their kids? I thought the
question was a little random so I asked if he had a personal
experience with it. He told us that by the time he was 15 years old,
his parents tried to get rid of his life three times, one of them
being that they dropped him off of a balcony. The doctors were able to
revive him to life 3 times and he still doesn't believe God exists. He
is holding in so much anger and grief because of what he's
experienced. When he was 15 he finally got the strength to fight away
his parents and he's been on his own ever since. He has permanent
damage from his childhood and has to get dialysis three times a week.
He can't work and has never been married and lives alone with his pet
bunny. It was so sad hearing his story and whenever we'd testify he
would just say no that's wrong. I did get pretty bold and told him to
stop arguing with us and just give us two minutes to try to say
something. We were able to testify what we know to be true. It was a
really powerful spiritual experience. We felt so much love for him. We
know we were supposed to meet him. What an amazing blessing it was to
meet him. He refuses to learn, but he agreed to have dinner this week
with us and the elders. Please pray that his heart will be softened!!
He needs this gospel so badly!
Tomoko San is progressing and continuing to keep the Word of Wisdom.
Sayaka chan is a little nervous for her baptism in two weeks. She is
SUPER SHY. Please continue to pray for them.
Carey Shimai is awesome and her Japanese is way fly. She is a great
example of working with the Spirit.
We had a great week! We are so blessed to get to see these awesome
miracles all the time. Serving a mission was definitely the best
decision ever. The Church is true! I know it is the only way we can
find true happiness in this life and in the world to come. Love you
all!
Love,
クライン姉妹
