We had such a good week! Mari was BAPTIZED and CONFIRMED! The service went well and she bore such a strong testimony about the Book of Mormon. She was so nervous, but did great! So her dad recently was re-activated and they have plans to be sealed as a family this October once her Dad receives his endowment in the temple! Yay for the Nakamura family- we are SO HAPPY for them!
We had an Open House at our church this weekend and we had quite a few nonmembers come! It was really fun! It started with us missionaries showing a pwp we made about who we are and why we are in Japan. Then we made ice cream and all the kids loved it! Then we had a church tour and went around to different rooms featuring different things like Primary, Relief Society, Mormon Helping Hands, Temples, etc. It ended up in the chapel with some music. We missionaries sang "Love is Spoken Here"; I love that Primary song so much. We had three moms from kids' eikaiwa come and they each brought 2 kids. 2 of the moms were really touched and want to learn more! They both became new investigators and we will meet with them this week. Hopefully it goes well and they will want to learn more!
Mihara san is now progressing and she shared a cool experience with us that she had this past week. She said she prayed for the first time alone and asked God to help her grandfather's health. The next day she heard that he was finally released from the hospital. It was great to hear her share a personal religious experience with us- that is what will help her conversion the most! We encouraged her to write about the experience so she won't ever forget it!
We had a lesson yesterday with the dad from Myanmar. He loves learning about Jesus Christ and said he felt in the lesson that Jesus Christ can help him with his struggles. We are now searching for a Book of Mormon in Barmish that we can give him!
That's about it for this week. It was so awesome to see Mari get baptized- a day I will never forget! She has changed so much and is so much happier now. It's amazing how much this gospel can affect anyone`s life! I know this church is true! love you!
