Konnichiwa!
This week was awesome and super busy!
One thing that happened was that I ate an octopus leg!!! It was disgusting! The elders after district meeting told me to try this `thing` so I was like sure! It was an octopus leg rolled up in a little pancake ball. It tasted like I had just bit out of the ocean... I managed to swallow it somehow! haha
We had a Relief Society activity where we made bread. our investigators yamashita and ukina chan came, so it was really good to see the branch members fellowship them.
Shosei, the Chinese girl, is doing well! We had a lesson with her the other day but she brought her friend and her friends mom, who is christian and also a bible basher haha. it was especially hard to teach because all the mom wanted to do was ask questions about random stuff, and she could only speak Chinese!!! we literally had no idea what she was saying. we just tried to testify and we are meeting with shosei alone this week, so we can focus on her needs. she apologized later for the mom and said that she felt really good when she read the book of mormon and that she wants to talk more about it. shosei can speak little japanese, so we are trying to work out a skype lesson, where a sister missionary from taiwan thats serving in fukuoka can translate our japanese to chinese for shosei. hopefully itll work out!!
random: the grocery store we go to here is HUGE. it takes up the whole bottom floor of a shopping mall. its awesome!
Thursday through Saturday morning we had splits! I was with Hermann Shimai, who is a 4th transfer. lets just say our nihongo isnt the best. we had lots of contacts and the Lord definitely helped us with the gift of tongues. people actually understood what we were trying to say! (or they just pretended like i do most of the time haha) we got some potential investigators and it was pouring rain all day friday but it was super fun! dendo in the rain is the best!
a branch member took us out to eat at a yakiniku place- it was sooo delicious!
Yamashita and Ukina Chan are set for their baptisms on the 30th! they are so amazing. they accept all the commandments and are excited to get church callings and ukina even mentioned maybe serving a mission!!!!
an 18 year old girl from the branch, Akira, joints our lessons a lot. she is awesome and is full of dendo fire. she is working on her papers right now! she has taken mayu, one of our investigators, under her wing and they hang out all the time! it makes us so happy! she invited Mayu to a 3 day YSA conference and Mayu went! that was really good because there was a testimony meeting at the end so she got to here a bunch of kids her age bear testimony of this gospel. Mayu didnt come to church this week so please pray that she will have a desire to come! we already taught her sabbath day but we need to go over it again this week and tell her how important church is. the Spirit at church is so strong and the sacrament is soo important!
we had FHE last night at the Kanekos house with Ryo Kyodai, a less active weve been working with. hes 25 and also went to the YSA conference! we secretly think that Ryo and Mayu should get married but well see what happens ;)
yesterday we also found a new investigator, Mai! Same name as the investigator i taught in the MTC! we found her while streeting. she lives in a hospital but says she would like to meet at the church to get out of the hospital. we meet with her on wednesday! i could see the desire in her eyes!
sorry this email was all over the place! i just get too excited over so many things! i know this gospel is true and I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior. I know that He loves all the people we find here in Japan so much! even the ones that reject us. He suffered for us all and because of Him, we can have eternal life. This is the true gospel! Hope you all are good- miss you!
愛しています!
