Konnichiwa!
So, I will be transferring for my last transfer! I will be going to
Iwakuni in Yamaguchi, which has a military base and military branch! I
will be in a 3-some, and both my companions have only been out 12
weeks. Kaicho told me he knows that I need to do this and that I need
to get these sisters ready to train other sisters when I go home.
I am so sad to leave Fukuoka! I will miss Kristine chan's baptism, and
also Keiko chan's baptism, who we just met this past week and made a
date with. I will miss the amazing ward members so much, our
investigators, and especially Carey Shimai. We have both grown so much and
she really is like my best friend. I have learned so much from her
these past two transfers. We were really hoping to stay together for
one more transfer, but I guess I need to go somewhere else. It's so
hard to say bye to everyone when you leave an area! I know Carey
Shimai and I will be friends forever.
So Iwakuni is really country, and we can choose each week to either go
to the American military branch for church or the Japanese branch. We
cannot proselyte on the military base. It'll be a short 6 weeks there,
but I'm looking forward to giving all I've got in this new area!! I'm
nervous to be in a 3-some. We will see how it goes!
So about this past week, I went on splits with two sisters. One in
Chikushino and one in Fujisaki.
Kristine chan is progressing well and she is so ready for baptism! She
was okay about the major commandments and is reading and praying every
day. I know she will have an amazing baptismal day!
Carey Shimai and I were streeting the other day and found Keiko. She
is 29 years old and in our first lesson, we made a baptismal date with
her for December 12th. She is so awesome and gave an amazing prayer in
the first lesson and when we call to follow up she tells us about how
much prayer has been helping her.
On Halloween, we got to feed the homeless! And we also had a lesson
with Kaz, our 57 year old investigator who ... was drunk. As soon as we
sat down, the Spirit told us to leave. Kaz creeped me out so much
and just the environment was so weird. So thankful for the Spirit!
I am so so sad to leave Fukuoka. I love it here. But next week, I will
let you know how Iwakuni is!
Love you all! The church is true. I love missionary work. Sometimes
transfers are hard, but I know there is something I need to learn in
this new companionship and new area!
'til next week!
