Konnichiwa!

Well, I got some cool news from my first area, Taniyama, this week at a meeting in Fukuoka. The Yamshita family's dad just got baptized! Now there are only two sons who haven't received baptism, but I heard they are taking the lessons right now! Yay for the Yamashita family. I cannot wait until they can all get sealed as a family!!

We had our first after baptism lesson with Mari Shimai. She is doing great and said she wrote a ton in the baptism journal that we gave her. She said she felt so happy and that she cannot wait to go to the temple to be sealed to her parents! She is continuing to progress well and loves reading her scriptures. She has such a strong testimony!!! She even invited one of her Christian friends from work to come to church with her!

We had another lesson with Htun Htun Oo, the man from Myanmar. It was so cute because in our last lesson his two little sons age 3 and 7 sat in on the lesson and wanted to close their eyes and fold their arms during the prayer, too. They dont speak Japanese or English, but they just watched and followed our example.

We met a mom on Tuesday named Koga San. She has two super cute kids and we talked a little about eternal families and the Plan of Salvation with her. She didn't have much time and couldn't make an appointment, so we had to leave. We left the Plan of Salvation pamphlet behind and said we'd come back when we were in the area. We really felt we should go back soon, so we returned two days later. Her cute kids answered the door and gave us 4 leaf clovers that they had picked that day at school. So cute! Then, Koga san came to the door and said that she read the pamphlet and felt a lot more calm about death. There's no reason to fear death because we can live with our families forever! We testified some more and then were able to make an appoinment with her husband as well. Five minutes after we left her door she called us as said "Hey, why don't you stay for dinner after the lesson? We really like you and want to hear more about why you're in japan." We were so excited to hear that! We have a lesson with her family on Tuesday and we feel really good about them!

This week I've really been trying to picture everyone we talk to in white baptismal clothing. It really raises your expectations and helps you focus on your purpose. It's amazing how much the law of expectations affects your missionary work. Just believe that you can accomplish your goals, and then you can! It's so simple!

I love being a missionary and know this Church is true. Without it, there is no way I or my family could be so happy. It really is the truth! I know that God is real and that He knows us each individually. He knows what we need and is just waiting for us to pray and ask Him. He is our Heavenly Father!

Love you!

Klein Shimai
